There is a new addition to the website gallery called the Boneyard. The album will have pictures of planes that lost the battle with gravity. Some may be rebuilt to fly another day, but most have there carcasses picked clean of any useful hardware and then get tossed in the trash.

New Lock for Clubhouse - Friday, May 01, 2009

The Bayou City Flyers clubhouse lock has been changed. We now have a digital pushbutton key code lock on the clubhouse door. The lock is 100% mechanical and requires no batteries for operation. This will eliminate problems we have with key inventory, and if a problem arises, we will be able to change the code on the lock. Please email Corey Johnson at coreyj645@yahoo.com and provide your name, address, and AMA number for membership verification, and once verified, the key code will be emailed to you.

BCF Members get Discount at the RC Hobby Shop in Sugar Land - Monday, March 30, 2009

I am pleased to announce that the Bayou City Flyers now has a club discount with the “RC Hobby Shop” in Sugar Land. Matt “Bucky” Keller, proprietor of the RC Hobby Shop and Lifetime Member of the Bayou City Flyers graciously agreed to support the club by giving all 2009 BCF members a 10% discount on one in-stock item per month (excludes consignment items). 2009 Membership / Discount cards have been made and will be distributed at Scobee field by myself and other BCF club officers. Hopefully this will be a long lasting and beneficial arrangement for both the RC Hobby Shop, and the Bayou City Flyers.

New Monthly Newsletter - Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Hello Everyone,

My name is Corey Johnson, and I have volunteered to create a monthly newsletter for the Bayou City Flyers club. I am a new member that is getting back into flying RC planes, and I wanted to contribute to improving the communication to club members. I will also be helping out in keeping the website up to date, along with helping promote any BCF club events. Right now, I am still trying to decide on the format of the newsletter, but I hope to have the first edition out soon. If you like to contributed an article, a how-to tip, or information on RC discounts/coupons it would be much appreciated.

Bayou City Flyers Club Meeting scheduled for Saturday, March 7th at 10:00am... - Saturday, February 21, 2009

During next months club meeting, BC Flyers club members will be discussing and voting on the following changes to club rules:

1.) Scheduled data & time for monthly club meetings...

2.) Changes to the Airplane of the Month and Crash of the month contests...

3.) Numbers of club members required at monthly meeting in order to hold a vote to change club rules...

4.) Policy on rewards for Event Coordinators who meet of match their event goals...

Please plan on attending this meeting if you would like your vote counted and opinions heard on these matters...
